Time for School = Time for Shots

August 2, 2011 by Molly Huff

It's that time of year again.  It's time to buy school supplies, time for those last-minute vacations, and time for pediatric immunizations.  Each August, health officials around the country observe the month of August as National Immunization Awareness Month.

Research shows that individuals who are up-to-date on recommended vaccines increase protection against serious and life-threatening infections for themselves, their families, friends and their communities. Yet, each year thousands of people across the nation fail to get immunized for vaccine-preventable diseases such as measles and rubella. In honor of National Immunization Awareness Month, observed in August, Affinity reminds local residents about the importance of vaccinations and encourages individuals to stay current with immunization schedules.

Please contact Affinity Pediatrics with any questions or to schedule your child's appointment with one of our pediatricians to make sure they are current with their immunization schedules.

Affinity wishes you a successful and healthy 2011/2012 school year!
